Otra vez

Un año y diez meses después, regresó.

Desde ayer.

Tan bien que era no preocuparse por tener "la visita mensual". Pero como amamanto menos, ya me imaginaba que no tardaría en hacer su aparición.

Y no hay mejor manera de hablar de "ella" que con este poema.

more beautiful than this
bright as the blood
red edge of the moon if
there is a river
more faithful than this
returning each month
to the same delta if there

is a river
braver than this
coming and coming in a surge
of passion, of pain if there is

a river
more ancient than this
daughter of eve
mother of cain and of abel if there is in

the universe such a river if
there is some where water
more powerful than this wild
water

pray that it flows also
through animals
beautiful and faithful and ancient
and female and brave

si hay un río
más hermoso que éste
brillante como la sangre
rojo al borde de la luna si
hay un río
más fiel que éste
volviendo cada mes
al mismo delta si hay

un río
más bravo que éste
viniendo y viniendo en oleadas
de pasión, de dolor si hay

un río
más antiguo que éste
hijo de eva
madre de caín y de abel si hay en

el universo un río semejante si
hay agua en algún lado
más poderosa que esta salvaje
agua

pedí para que también fluya
en animales
hermosos y fieles y antiguos
y femeninos y bravos
